Vote for 2010 citizen and business of the year.
If a Flushing business or citizen sticks out as being one of the best, there’s a chance to have them honored at the Flushing Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.
Mike Szukhent, executive director of the chamber, is asking for nominations for both citizen and business of the year by Dec. 17.
He needs the name of the person or business and a brief explanation of why they are deserving of the award. It can be submitted through e-mail to info@flushingchamber.com or by mail to 133 E. Main Street, Flushing, MI 48433.
A citizen of the year makes life better because of what he or she does for the community, and the business of the year is supportive of the community, goes out of the way to help others or just offers great service, Szukhent said.
The winners will be announced during the awards banquet, which starts with cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and awards on Jan. 20 at the Flushing Valley Country Club, 1124 E. Main St.
Tickets are available at the chamber office for $30 a person.
