Welcome to the Flushing Area Chamber of
Commerce site. It provides information regarding the community,
businesses, membership, etc.
Located just a short distance northwest of Flint and only moments
from the 1-75/23 corridor allows the people of Flushing to enjoy the
advantages of a metropolitan area, while residing in a small town
atmosphere.
A spruced-up downtown, a healthy variety of commercial and
service establishments, and a growing number of businesses of all
kinds on the Pierson Road corridor, help make up the expanding
community of Flushing.
Scattered throughout the community are eight parks offering
year-round activities for the entire family. Riverview Park hosts
the free Concerts
in the Park summer series, Movies
in the Park, the annual Art
in the Park, and also houses Tucker Pool and a pavilion for
family and organization get-togethers.
One of the highlights of summer in Flushing is the fabulous
community Summer
Fest held in June. A fifties theme is carried throughout the
festival. Flushing, known as the Cruise Capital of Michigan, hosts
gatherings of 1972 and older automobiles every third Saturday of
each month during the summer.
Each fall, the Flushing Area Chamber of Commerce and local
merchants host the Harvest
Festival. Local Merchants and the downtown area provide food,
entertainment and fun family activities.
Flushing's annual Candlewalk
is held in December. The event features many talented performers on
the streets in the downtown area. Merchants offer free refreshments
and warm-up stations as a "Thank You" to the community for their
support. Approximately 10,000 candles line Main Street and the whole
town "Decks the Halls" for a beautiful display.
